Purdue cornerback Sean Collins was dismissed from the team after being arrested for allegedly hitting a woman.
So long, Sean Collins. From the Indy Star:
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue senior cornerback Sean Collins has been dismissed from the Boilermaker football team, head coach Danny Hope announced Tuesday.
The dismissal comes after Collins was arrested on July 14 outside a bar on campus on preliminary charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery.
Hope had suspended Collins, a former player at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. He said Tuesday that the serious allegations prompted his decision to dismiss the junior. He said the school would re-evaluate the situation if the charges change.
As noted yesterday, Collins is the ninth Boilermaker athlete arrested in the last two years.
