Even before the Freeh report was released this morning, ESPN and others were asking what Penn State should do with the Joe Paterno statue on campus.
The options – keep it or get rid of it – felt a little narrow. Here’s a poll with more expansive options:

Take it down. Then indefinitely disband the football program. Then await Jim Delaney to come and tell you that you are no longer a member of the Big Ten.

Would be a nice trade in terms of program stature, and the whole “football comes before people” attitude – i.e. sending a kid up on a scissor lift filming practice in high winds.
Things like that tend to be easier for an athletic department to explain away as bad luck or force majeure, rather than facilitating and ignoring a decade of child rape.
