Blotter: DJ Byrd Gets Drunk, Goes To Jail

D.J. Byrd went to the pokey overnight:

Indiana State Police arrested Purdue basketball standout David Jonathan Byrd, 21, overnight and accused him of public intoxication.

Byrd, a junior, was booked into the Tippecanoe County Jail around 3:35 a.m. Friday and was released around 8:30 a.m.

Byrd is majoring in organizational leadership and supervision. He is from Crawfordsville and is a graduate of North Montgomery High School.

Couple things:

1. That’s the full story on the Indianapolis Star website. No basketball-related stuff. Just his major, where he’s from and where he went to high school.
2. I like that they used his full name, like they do with assassins and serial killers (John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, et al).
