The Big Ten has ample ground to make up on the SEC in terms of perception.
In that regard, Nebraska is playing for a greater cause.
It’s already clear that motivation won’t be an issue for the Huskers — a significant change from the generally listless approach to last December’s Holiday Bowl loss to Washington.
“This is a big game for us,” said Nebraska safety P.J. Smith, a native of River Ridge, La. ”The SEC is the best conference out there, by far.
“They’ve got everything, man.”
They don’t get to live in Lincoln, though! Or travel to Iowa City in the snow! Or State College! In the snow!
